This project explores the application of Permacomputing principles in graphic design. Permacomputing represents a concept and community dedicated to promoting a more sustainable use of computer and network technology. The design principles of permacomputing, their origins and significance serve as a practical theoretical framework.

Pour la première étape de l’exposition du Fonds International d’Objets Imprimés de Petite Taille le collectif Toner Toner propose de re-publier trois documents, présentés en amont de l’exposition et abordant tous les mois un sujet différent sur le statut des objets imprimés et/ou de l’information. Alors que le premier traite du statut des distributeurs de prospectus publicitaires, le second s’intéresse à l’aspect spectaculaire de l’information et le troisième est un extrait de l’ouvrage d’Inge Scholl qui décrit dans ce passage l’attention portée à la conception des tracts de résistance.

In a world that projects itself through imagery, photography has become an omnipresent representation of our reality. Images that surround us and our living environment are often made underneath the rule of image-making industries, such as stock photography. Companies like Getty Images have often been criticised regarding its generic image production. This voluminous publication delves into a philosophical exploration that attempts to draw connections between Guy Debord’s 'Society of the Spectacle' (1967) and contemporary image production under stock photography companies. By doing so, I make an attempt to speculate what effect the generic image has left on our perception of the world, ourselves and others.
